Sleeeeeeeeep

Ok so my theory of Scrubs being the answer to me being able to sleep seems false.  I slept alright for a while... but now... I am running on maybe.... 10 hours TOTAL of sleep for the last three days.  I feel like my eyes are on fire.  Lol  I didn't fall asleep until 5 this morning and had to get up at 9:30.  I bought myself some Sleepy Time Tea.  Hopefully that helps but I have to admit this is starting to get to me just a little bit.  I know it bothers my boyfriend because I toss and turn trying to fall asleep so it keeps him up.  I don't know what it is going on, I am just so paranoid.  I hear every noise that goes through the house and just lay there playing out the worst scenes in my head.  I am not even sure what I am afraid of.  I just know I have to start getting on a regular sleep schedule or I am going to go crazy.  This whole thing is ridiculous.

I hope all is going well for the rest of you.

  1. Do you exercise? I notice that when I stop working out for a while, I can't sleep well.

    1. I have never been one to have a regular exercise schedule but I guess I have been less active within these last few weeks.

  2. Very interesting! There is something on your mind! You have to clear you head and your space where you sleep! Maybe burn some sage!

    1. I have to admit I am at a loss on what could be troubling my sub conscious so much. I was reading another blog though and I think I will definitely start centering myself before bed. I didn't think about clearing the space but now it sounds like a really good idea. Thank you.

  3. Get some sleeping pills!
I was a wreck for many years because of sleep deprivation. When I finally started taking Zolpidem (falling-asleep-pill) before bed it made all the difference. I only take ½ pill to calm my thoughts down enough to fall asleep. The actual sleep-all-night pills I also got I only take maybe once a month. They're not what I need.

    1. Well I took a benadryl the other night and that knocked me out. I just don't want to make a habit of doing though. I don't know why it has just suddenly come on like this. Sure there have been nights when I couldn't sleep but not weeks in a row. I have no idea what is with this sudden paranoia that someone is going to break into my house either.

  4. I suggest Melatonin if you are having sleeping issues. Completely natural, available in the herbal supplement section of basically anystore, and actually works. Combine that with your sleepy time tea and you should have a fantastic sleep! Hope you find something that helps you sleep!

    2. Yes, there are many different drugs to try, some more "natural" than others, but Melatonin don't do a thing for me - maybe because I'm already a night person?

    3. Well trying first with Melatonin and hopefully it works if not then I am just going to make an appointment and see if I can get some medicine to help. My Mom has a lot of problems sleeping at night and she was prescribed Zanex. I took one once and really didn't like it. Sure it knocked me out but I was knocked out for a REALLY long time and then after I woke I was still drowsy.

    1. Thanks Jen. I hadn't thought about exercising it makes sense though. I have started centering myself as I lay down and am ready to sleep. It has helped just clearing my thoughts and not letting myself work myself up.
