Monster Cookies

Well today was a ton of fun at Grandpas.  Got to sit and visit, go swimming (again), and eat some Chicago style pizza and Monster Cookies.  Yum.  My little sister was great, with a little help from my Mom she was able to learn how to do a back flip.  So now in the pool she can do a hand stand, front flip, and back flip.  It is so crazy to see how much she has improved within just a few days.  I am excited for her.  She can do more than I can lol.  The fear of having water get into my ears keeps me from trying anything to crazy. Haha.

Oh I also wanted to give a HUGE Thank You to all of the wonderful comments on my last post.  I love reading them and they always brighten my day.  I probably look silly every time my phone buzzes announcing a new email and I see its because I have a new comment and have my own little freak out happy dance.  So again Thank You guys. =D

Oh and thanks to Magic Love Crow I remembered to snap a picture of Grandma's Monster Cookies.  They are amazing.  I am really sorry again everyone that I can't share the recipe with all of you.

Another thing I felt like sharing with all of you is this site to The Nu Project.  I am always on the look out for things that are inspiring.  Something that I see that just instantly makes me wish I had a pencil and paper.  Specially recently I have been trying to work on my figure drawings which you can see at my deviantart account. (Button to the right)  In my hunt I stumbled upon this site a while ago.  http://thenuproject.com/

"The Nu Project is a series of honest nudes of normal women from all over the world. The project began in 2005 and has stayed true to the original vision: no professional models, minimal makeup and no glamour. The focus of the project has been and continues to be the subjects and their personalities, spaces, insecurities and quirks."

Now I know some of you might not care for this kind of art.  But I instantly fell in love with Matt Blum's work.  I love that these are everyday women.  All of them their normal natural selves and absolutely beautiful.  I couldn't help but share.

So that is all for tonight.  I hope that you all had a wonderful Tuesday and have an even better Wednesday.  Tomorrow my Mom and I have to go over to D.E.S.  to get finger printed and all that lovely stuff.  Then later in the evening I am going to Ashley's to help make paper flowers for the bouquets.  Hoping I can get a bunch of pictures for you guys.

Relaxing Day

So today was a ton of fun.  I slept in to say the least considering I stayed up so late talking to Matt. I will have to be better about that though I doubt it. =P  See what happens once I start working.  Other than just chilling with my Mom and sister we didn't do all that much. My sister and I went to the pool for like 2 and a half hours.  It was great we had a blast and I managed to snap a couple of pictures. =)  I was also able to get a nice tan.  Between the swimming and tank tops I have been wearing I have completely got rid of the uneven tan that was on my arms.  So that is nice.  Now I just need to work on the rest of me. Haha

Oh also a lovely surprise was waiting for me today.  2 new followers!  Woot woot.  I was able to call Raz today and follow up on when I am supposed to start working.  I guess there are 7 background checks mine included that are still pending.  Waiting is no fun.  I'm getting a little antsy, so ready to just start working.  =)  The same thing is happening with my Mom.  I am hoping that within a few days we will hear something though.  Keep your fingers crossed.

Tomorrow we are going to go hang out with Grandpa for a while.  Order pizza probably swim even more and just visit.  Oh and I found Grandma's monster cookie recipe.  Unfortunately I can't share it with all of you.  Is the rule of the family that its not allowed to be posted on the web.  I will think of some other tasty treat to share with everyone though. I hope that you all had a great Monday.

Weddings oh my!

So this will probably be a short post but I can't sleep.... probably because I am on the phone with my Matt. Both of us enjoying each others company from a far.  Doing our own thing while making small talk.  Man I can't wait til we can see each other.  Three pay checks from now seems like it is going to take forever.
Anyways....
I also am just in the mood to write and felt like there is no better time to give a short update on what I have been up to.  Yesterday was actually a pretty amazing day.  We spent most of our time relaxing before we went to go spend the afternoon and have dinner with Jim's parents.  (who are Grandma and Grandpa I don't even know their real names lol.)  We sat and visited, ate a ton of monster cookies.  A.K.A. the best cookies ever!  I will have to get the recipe from her to share with all of you if she will let me.

Grandma, Caitlin and I all went swimming after it stopped raining.  It was prefect weather in my opinion.  The air was cool just after the rain instead of blistering hot like normal.  The water was just the right temperature and we had a blast.  It is amazing to see how well my sister is doing now that she is swimming on a regular basis.  She has gotten over her fear of jumping in the deep end, dives under water, doesn't need any floaties, and is learning to swim very well.  I was happy to see her having so much fun.  Despite how odd this might sound it was also amazing to see how well Grandma and Grandpa treated her.  As if Caitlin was one of their own grandchildren.  It was also great because they both have treated me the same.  I will admit that Caitlin, Matthew, and I have never been very close to our grandparents.  So as different as it was its a nice change and its great to see Caitlin so happy.

Today we a pretty lazy day for the most part.  I sat and read for a long while.  Almost half way through A Game of Thrones which I am still loving though I am eager for something.... dramatic to happen.  I can tell that something is coming but I can't put my finger on what it is or which of all the characters it will involve.  It is also frustrating because the author writes from my favorite character points of views very seldom.  Its like it he will get right to the good part with those characters and then move on to another chapter and not get back to that character for what seems like forever.

On to more exciting news though.  My lovely friend Ashley (who I have mentioned and shared quite a few pictures of in my Faces Behind the Blog page) is getting married!  I am so excited for her.  Jeremy her fiance is a really nice guy and I am happy for them both.  She asked me to be one of her bridesmaids also!  Sebrina, her little sister Malorie, and I are all going to be in her wedding.  Yesterday my bridesmaids dress came in along with Ashley's wedding dress.  So we both went to try on our dresses.  Mine actually fit really well we can't see anything that is going to need to be changed.  I am a little worried since I am working to lose weight, so that could be a problem.  Ashley's dress actually has a bunch of little things that need fixing.  But she looked absolutely beautiful.

This is actually Sebrina's and my dress color and all.

The wedding is September 22nd this year.  I wish I could find a picture of Ashley's dress to share with everyone.  I couldn't find it though so I guess it will just have to wait until September when the wedding pictures are taken. It will be a surprise. ;)  All of the pictures also in this post other than the bridesmaid dress are their engagement pictures.  The first picture is a picture of her ring very pretty.  Also what is going to be totally awesome and so US.  Everyone in the wedding is going to be wearing Vans.  It is going to be great.  One thing I am nervous about is they are also pulling a Glee.  Down the isle they are going to be playing .... something by Bruno Mars and we are also supposed to do... something fun down the isle instead of just the normal slow walk. Skipping, dancing, just something out of the ordinary.  I am a little nervous to say the least.  Haha.

So yeah really fun evening spending time with Ashley trying on our dresses and talking about wedding plans.  Sometime this week I will probably go over to help make paper flowers for bouquets.  So far they are turning out really pretty and hopefully I can get some pictures to share with all of you.  Specially of her brooch bouquet which last time I saw was turning out really nice.  Well I think that is all for tonight.  Hope all of you are enjoying your week so far.  Goodness this turned out to be a rather large post and oh man its 1 in the morning.  Need to get going.... even though I am still on the phone with Matt.  Haha  Happy dreaming everyone.

Friday Favorite Finds

For those of you who didn't read my last few post I have decided to start doing a Friday Favorites post.  For all the net surfing I do and the things I see day to day I thought it would be nice to share some of my favorites with all of you.  I follow a few blogs that do the same and it is always one of my favorites to read through and see all the awesome pictures. So for the first (for me) ever Friday Favorite Finds.

First yesterday My Mom, Sister, and I all went to go see Mirror Mirror since it is now in the dollar theaters. All around I thought that the movie was cute.  My favorite part though was the song at the beginning of the ending credits.  Very fun and up beat. =)
I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I did.

And my other favorite musical find is this cover of "If I Die Young" that Sam Tsui did.  I honestly don't know who he is but I really like this version of the song.

So this weeks finds are mostly based on room decorating ideas.  As I have mentioned we will be moving into a new house hopefully by the end of August.
So my sister and I have been surfing the net for bedroom ideas.
So these are just a few of the ideas we liked the most.

First for my sisters top three choices.

She thought it was pretty cool that I let her pic three pictures for the blog =P
She has pretty good taste in my opinion too.

Now for some of my top choices

I really like the blue here and the bed close to the ground.
I thought this would be especially cool if I got the studio but it can work for a bedroom too.

One of my all time favorites is dark purple like here.
I also thought that for the studio since it does need a bit of work done.
That this was a nice idea for an alternative to a closet.

So that is it for this Friday I hope that you all enjoyed this post. I would love to hear all of your guy's opinions as far as decorating and paint choices for the rooms.  =)  Hope you all had an awesome Friday.

Oh the possibilities.

Well I figured I would write a quick message tonight.
First look! =D I have 5 followers.  Talk about being one happy lady right now. lol  Thank you so much guys!

So anyways... today was a good day we went and looked at the new house.  Needs a bit of work done to it but I am very excited.  I am hoping to get the studio out back so I will sorta be set away from everyone it would be nice.  But Scott (the roommate) might be the one staying there.  Lets just say he has managed to get on my nerves a bit over the whole thing.  Enough about that though moving on.  So I either get the studio which is decent size has its own bathroom completely detached from the main house or a bedroom in the house that has its own entrance and I will only share the bathroom with my younger sister.  Either way I am excited.  And since the house is being bought we get to paint the rooms however we want!  First for me and I am uber stoked.

Since we had to leave so much behind and have like 0 furniture we literally have to start fresh.  So I have been trying to think of some cool looks for my room.  The tile in the main house is like a DARK DARK almost black blue with some white... cloudy looking lines through it.  Sounds a little odd but its actually really pretty.  And we have to put new tile in the studio.  So I spent a lot of the day trying to think of different looks for my new room.  Oh the possibilities. Lots of cool pics picked out which I have decided to wait to share until Friday to be a part of the new Friday Favorite Finds post.  Because there is just a mass of them I need to go through them and down size lol.  I would love to get all of your opinions though.  I personally love vintage, bohemian.... almost hippie style.  I like the idea of having a bed close to the ground I think they are called platform frames? or a metal canopy frame that I can hang some sheers on.  As far as colors go I am pretty open.

That is pretty much it for this post.  Hoping to maybe be able to go around and thrift store hunt for some of the things I will need soon.  Though its a little hard since at the moment we are currently still in the apartment where I don't even have a room.  We are hoping to be in the house by the end of August I think is the plan.  We will see. =)  Other than that not all that much is going on.  I am a bit impatient waiting for the call about when I can start working.  I am just ready already lol.  I know its only been a day but holy cow I am so excited.  It will be nice to have that comfort of knowing I have a steady source of income to help pay for things and start saving for all the things we will need.

Well I hope that you all are having a lovely week so far.

Beautiful Day

Well everyone I have great news.  I got a job and so did my Mom!!!  After weeks of hunting and countless apps I have finally landed a job as a cashier at Sam's Club... and same with my Mom lol.  Yeah a little funny Mother, Daughter working for the same place doing the same thing.  Its really a blessing though.   Not exactly a dream job but its great for us.  Filled out the application last night, interviewed this morning, and walked out with a job.  Its a HUGE relief knowing we will both have a source of income.  The pay is actually really good and they also have pretty decent benefits. Hoping they are going to give us full-time right away but we will see.

So I treated my Mom and Sister to lunch to celebrate, then we had to go pay the cellphone bill which is never any fun. Now we are just home relaxing.  I guess that is all that I really have to write about today lol.  I was just so excited I wanted to share the great news with everyone else.  =)  Oh also some of you may notice that I have deleted all of my old post.  I wasn't sure at first on whether or not I was going to, but in the end its what I wanted.  While the past I know will always be a part of me this is a fresh start for my family and I.  Even though most of the post were happy post I still think a clean slate is what I need.

So I hope you all had an amazing Tuesday.

Dust Bunnies and The Haunting

So today my Mom and I spent the day cleaning.  Staying with our friend Jim and his roommate Scott.... well we moved into a bachelor pad lets put it that way.  Really its is not as bad as you would think.  In fact on first glance the apartment looks very tidy.  Its all those little things like.... dusting that has been neglected for a while.  So we swept, mopped, dusted, scrubbed the bathroom.  Sweeping was a bit of a challenge after moving pieces of furniture I felt like I spent most of my time chasing around dust bunnies that refused to go into the dust pan.  I swear they were running from me!  We can confidently say now though that the apartment is now very clean.  We made lemon pepper marinaded chicken with garlic and herb noddles for dinner and then spent the evening relaxing.

Oh a little random note at the moment I am listening to San Andreas Fault by Natalie Merchant.  Perfect song in my opinion to just dim the lights maybe even light some candles and just sway to the music to.  If only I had a room... and candles I would do just that.

I talked to my Mom yesterday about her Ganesh tattoo and she has decided against it.  I can understand her reasons why which are a bit personal.  I think I might still work on a drawing of it though.  Lately thanks to pinterest lol I have been more in the mood to draw something.... magical.  I just created two new boards "Down the Rabbit Hole" and "Neverland".  For those of you who can't guess one is an Alice in Wonderland theme and the other Peter Pan.  Both have put me in the mood to draw something along those themes.  Oh the possibilities.  Maybe that is how I will spend my Monday who knows.

I also think I am going to start a new thing here on the blog.  Friday Favorites or Friday Finds one of the two.  I have seen a few other people doing it and I like the idea.  Will be a way for me to share all the neat little things I come by through out my net surfing of the week.  Images, songs, post, blogs, stories, ect...  Plus it gives me something to write about and a fun little activity to look forward to.

One things I can't wait til Friday to share though is Magaly Guerrero's (from the blog Pegan Culture) story "The Haunting".  I loved it!  Its not like anything I have ever read before, very original, dark, and sexy.  I couldn't stop reading until I had finished.  By the time I finished "Out of the Fire" Part 6 of the story I was on the edge of my seat, left craving more and still can't get over it.  I would recommend it to anyone.  If you are interested in reading it here is the link. http://www.magalyguerrero.com/p/pre-chaos_08.html I hope that anyone who decides to read it enjoys it as much as I do.

Well that is it for today.  I hope that you all had a wonderful Sunday to end or start your week.  =)  I have to get going for now though since a very handsome man who currently holds my affection is calling.
